Child Safety Standards

FIRE:STARTERS has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and any sexualization of minors. These standards apply to everything on FIRE:STARTERS: the app on iPhone and Android, and firestarters.us.

Who can use FIRE:STARTERS

• You must be 13 or older. Every account gives a birth year when it is set up, and we refuse accounts under 13.
• Members aged 13–17 are treated as minors automatically, from their birth year. They cannot turn these protections off.

Protections for members under 18

• Adults cannot send direct messages to minors, and minors cannot message adults. This is enforced by our database, not only by the app's screens.
• Between minors, a first message from someone new waits as a request until it is accepted.
• Minors are left out of people search, “people you may know”, contact matching and nearby discovery.
• Posts by minors never carry a location, and minors cannot place exact pins on the map.

What is prohibited

• Any sexual content involving a minor, real or fictional, including drawings and AI-generated images.
• Grooming: building a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes, or asking a minor for sexual images or contact.
• Sextortion, and sharing or threatening to share intimate images.
• Linking to, trading or asking for CSAM anywhere, on or off FIRE:STARTERS.

How to report

In the app or on the website, use Report on any post or profile, or block the account. You can also email safety@aeriox.co. Say what you saw and include a link or the username. Do not send us copies of abusive images.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

What we do when CSAE is reported

• We remove the content from view and suspend the account involved, which hides its profile, posts and comments.
• We preserve the evidence as the law requires, and we do not delete it.
• We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by US law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and we cooperate with law enforcement.
• Child-safety bans are permanent and cannot be appealed.

Compliance

FIRE:STARTERS complies with child safety laws that apply to it, including US federal reporting obligations, and with the Google Play and Apple App Store child safety policies. Our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service set out the same rules.
